PEKIN -

The Bushnell Warriors completed their undefeated run through the 8-Man Football League after a 66-34 victory over the defending league champion Capital City Outlaws Sunday at the Dragon's Dome.
The record-setting 8FL season ended a perfect 12-0 for the Warriors.
The tone was set from the very first offensive possession. Warrior quarterback Matt Koster, who was questionable as to whether he would play due to a knee injury, pitched to Evan Haffner. Haffner let the ball fly 45 yards to a waiting Dante Daniels on the first play from scrimmage, to give Bushnell an early 8-0 lead.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair as the Outlaws hung tough.
CCO quarterback Dan Eck found a wide-open Chavez Williams for a 10 yard score. Capital City recovered a Warrior fumble on the ensuing possession, but was stopped on downs after four downs on the 1-yard line.
The Warrior offense then marched down the field, culminating the drive with a 5-yard rushing touchdown by Daniels making it 16-6.
Eck again found a chink in the defensive armor as he hit a wide-open Brady DeClerk from 25 yards to pull the Outlaws back to within two at 16-14. Koster answered with a 10-yard strike of his own to Brian Wohlfeil, but CCO's Deon Morris would take the ensuing kickoff back 55 yards to the house for an Outlaw score.
With two defenders grasping Koster on Bushnell's next possession, Jay Trepainier hauled in a 5-yard floater that was deflected by teammate Wohlfeil.
Eck answered with his third touchdown of the day to his third different receiver in Chad Mileham to bring the deficit back to two at 30-28.
Just before the half, Daniels scampered into the end zone for his second rushing touchdown to give Bushnell a 36-28 halftime lead.
The third quarter was all Haffner.
After Capital City was forced to punt on its first possession, Haffner caught a 40-yard bomb from Koster to open up the lead to 44-28. On consecutive plays, Haffner picked off the Outlaws' Eck before hauling in another long touchdown of 50 yards.
After another Outlaw punt, Haffner racked up his third touchdown of the quarter to blow the game wide open at 58-28.
Eck's 5-yard run and Koster's 15-yard pass to Tyler Snider capped off scoring for the 66-34 final score.
The Warriors would like to thank those who supported the 8-Man Football League in 2008.
