I was watching the dogs play after work Monday night. Suddenly, I heard a horrible gut wrenching scream. There, convulsing on the floor, with his head stretched clear back to his tail was Maddox, my nine month old Pomeranian.

Although his heart was beating, his body was rigid and he was convulsing badly and breathing irregularly. I dialed Animal Medical Center.

Dr. Lotz’s voice calmly asked me where I was. I told him I was on my way. He simply said, “I’ll meet you there.”

Dr. Lotz took care of my dog with love and compassion. He came into work on his own time, after hours, for a dog he barely knew.

As Maddox was examined and cared for, he began to come back around. I learned that he had suffered a seizure.

Dr. Lotz stayed with me until Maddox came out of it enough to return home. I realized how lucky I was to have been able to reach a vet that late in the evening. A vet that was willing to drop everything and rush into work to care for my baby, irregardless of the time.

I understand that we are “around the clock” kind of people and we need service and care at all hours. It should never be taken for granted.

There are no words that could express the gratitude and respect I feel towards Dr. Lotz and his staff. His calm demeanor and swiftness to respond was remarkable. He managed to care for my dog and me, all after putting in a hard days work.

Thank you Chuck Lotz for all of your hard work and dedication. There are those who appreciate it more than you know.
